Tenru's Time?
by Devil Tetsuo, November 6th, 1998

Grappling My locker room sources have told me that Super Japan wrestler, Jensei Tenru has been said to have contacted the corporate offices of G-Pro.  Tenru has emerged as one of the fastest rising stars in all of Japanese wrestling and is now said to also want to compete in G-Pro.

Tenru is one of the most arrogant stars to hit the scene in quite a while.  Feuds look to be on the horizon with both "Japanese Superstar" Jensei Tenru and Super Tengu.  I traveled to the Matsuoko Dojo International a few days ago and asked Tenru about this hot rumor.  Tenru replied, "If I do go to G-Pro, I will show all the lucha fans that I am the hottest thing in that country since the dysentery outbreak in Tijuana last year."

At 21 years of age, Tenru has been a shameless self promoter and markets himself in any way possible.  This is quite a switch from his humble childhood where he was abandoned by his natural parents and adopted at age two by Hakiro Matsuoko.  Matsuoko soon began training this child in the martial arts and soon after that, professional wrestling.  Matsuoko has told me that Tenru's huge ego developed after he saw his own potential and ability.  Matsuoko, who is a very traditional competitor, says that he has no problems with Tenru's ego.  "It is needed in such a competitive sport." he told me just a few days ago.

If and when Tenru debuts in G-Pro he may just set the standard for stardom in those two leagues.  With his ability and confidence, Tenru may prove that he is, as he says, "It."
