Here A Tenru, There A Tenru, But
No More Tengu?
by Taro Nakada, December 13th, 1998
Jensei Tenru. "Japanese Superstar" Jinsei Tenru. Two
men who share the same name, but beyond that, are two different people.
Jensei Tenru, alleged son of world renknowned Hakiro Matsuoko, has an ego to
match his talent. From day one, he seemed ready and willing to
antagonize Super Tengu, the man many called "The Franchise" of
SJPW. Then Jinsei Tenru appeared. With his MLWO Japan title, he
wants to destroy his namesake. As of yet, they have only met
once. Super Tengu was part of that match, and he was carried out on a
stretcher after Jinsei Northern Lights Bombed him through a table, causing
Tengu to reinjure his neck.
Now, Tengu has unmasked, and Tetstuo Matsumoto, the so-called "Iron
Man" stands in his place. Yet rumors persist that Super Tengu has
been seen haunting the arenas SJPW host their shows. How can this
be? Has someone taken up the mask and legacy that is Tengu? We
all saw Matsumoto burn his mask, and swear vengeance against Jinsei. So
who is this new Tengu? Maybe there is none.
Getting back to Tenru and Tenru, when will they face again? Will the
MLWO title be on the line? Will Jensei jump ship to G-Pro, and leave
his namesake behind to face the wrath of Matsumoto alone? So many
questions that must be answered. Have I gotten you all thoroughly
confused yet? Good! I know I am! Let's now mention the
fact that The Maulers want a piece of Jinsei Tenru, but Alan Sterling seems
willing and able to watch his back. Jensei has Tiger Extreme, and rumor
has it, Oleg Vladikoff to watch his. Vladikoff and Matsumoto had a
*VERY* stiff match worthy of SHVF not too long ago, and word has it that
Vladikoff wants a rematch ASAP! This is getting too confusing even for
me! This article is over! Make of it what you will!
