The IIeW is recognized around the world as one of the most prestigious events
in professional wrestling. Wrestlers go to great lengths to make an
appearance at this supercard and this year's version looks to be extremely
competitive featuring the likes of Dan "Flash" Kauffman, Casey
"Blackheart" James, "Crimson" Joe Reed, Bishop,
"Outlaw" Bobby Taylor, "Diamondback" Chris Myers and The
Deschenes Cup tournament.
Puroresuring stars have appeared at previous IIeW events and have done well
but this year looks to be particularly promising for the Japanese style of
wrestling.
Gunryo Pro will be participating by sponsoring a trios match pitting
"Thunda From Down Unda" Jason Storm (captain), The Banshee
and Wuzho against the hated Zokugun Sangai team of Kashan Akuma
(captain), TORA Wanizame and Nijikon. While Zokugun Sangai holds
the advantage in having teamed together on several occassions, the team of
Storm/Banshee/Wuzho includes two of G-Pro's top titleholders. That
combined with the significant amount of hatred felt between the various
parties involved and this promises to be one of the most heated contests of
the event.
But SJPW will also be representing the Land of the Rising Sun as it is
sponsoring a huge rematch for the Welterweight title: "The Warbird"
Yukio Murakami (challenger) taking on Tasogare no Prince
(champion). Murakami came within inches of taking the title at
the Sensou no Jidai supercard and is looking to unseat the Twilight Prince in
front of perhaps the largest audience in professional wrestling.
While wrestling fans will be focusing on such notables as Otto Verhoeven,
Steve Spector, Tiger Claw and Derek Mota, the spotlight will also be on the
stars of puroresuring and doubtless they will shine brightly.
