Rising Star
by Ken Toyota, February 9th, 1999

[Recently I was assigned the task of interviewing "Beauty Star"Angel Saito.  Piece of cake, I thought. She's from Models Inc., the same stable of fashion models/wrestlers as Princess Yamaguchi, who I interviewed not too long ago. I was quite mistaken. First, getting a hold of her was tough.  She's a very busy lady. second, her manager, Miss Melinda, would not allow me to ask any questions about Saito's childhood or family. Third, I was only guaranteed a half an hour of her time. After agreeing, I finally got to talk with the "Beauty Star". I interviewed her on the set of "Beauty Idol Power", a new video that she is filming with her tag partner Princess Yamaguchi. It should be noted that Saito wrestled briefly in the Mexican Womens Wrestling Alliance where she was their champion before they closed.  She models frequently in the United States and Europe and recently inked a lucrative deal to pose for Playboy magazine.  This young beauty came across as pretty nice, if a tad bit arrogant.  And you can't help but notice her flawless face and million dollar body.]

Ken Toyota:  So, tell us about "Beauty Idol Power".

Angel Saito:  (smiling) Gladly.  This video is for the fans, who mean so much to us.  The video features some of the matches that Mina (Princess Yamaguchi) and I have had as well as some modeling footage and some behind the scenes stuff.  This should really make the fans happy.

KT:  Speaking of Mina, you two have formed an impressive team in the Goddesses of Beauty.  Have you two had a hard time adjusting to working as a team, considering you are both noted as singles wrestlers?

AS:  No, not really.  We both trained together and have been friends for some time now.  We may be a team but we still have our individual pursuits and interests.  We both want to be the 3WI singles champion.

KT:  Would you face her in a singles match?

AS:  Absolutely.  The wrestling industry is a business, first and foremost, and every woman wants to be at the top.  I know this and Mina knows it.  Even your best friends can become your worst enemies.

KT:  How do you feel your chances are for capturing the 3WI tag titles?

AS:  We will be the 3WI tag champions and you can quote me on that.  The JIWWA has some great teams.  But it doesn't matter if it's the Wild Knights or Diamond Kenyuki and Hurricane ARASHI, we will be the last team standing.

KT:  Do you get along with the other women in the JIWWA?

AS:  I mainly keep to myself.  These women don't even come close to matching me in beauty, class or sophistication.  Mina is the only one on my level.  She's the only woman I consider a friend.  These others are just inadequate competition.  They all want to be where I am.

KT:  Before returning to Japan, you wrestled in the Mexican Women's Wrestling Alliance.  How did you like it?

AS:  (smiles) It was the greatest.  The fans in Mexico are wonderful.  They gave me the name "Beauty Star".  I do miss them a lot.  But the fans here in Japan are just as great.  Their cheers mean so much to me.  If it wasn't for the fans we would be nothing.

KT:  What does the future hold for "Beauty Star" Angel Saito?

AS:  I will be the 3WI singles champion as well as co-holder of the 3WI tag titles.  I will be modeling the latest fashions in Milan, Paris and New York.  I will do it all.

KT:  Thank you for your time.

AS:  It was all my pleasure.  Anything for PN Magazine.
