G-Pro Roster Suffers
Casualties
by Koichi Iwamoto, February 23rdt, 1999
Gunryo Pro's roster took a beating, or more literally the members of said
roster took a beating, at the recent Cold Blood supercard held at the
Sapporo Snow Festival. While injuries are a regular occurence in
puroresuring, this event saw an inordinately high number of wrestlers
requiring hospitalization or further treatment following their matches.
The injured include:
Hospitalized
- "Flyer" Jinsei Shakanuzi - was taken to Sapporo
National Hospital for unspecified injuries following his brutal ladder match
with "Hardcore" Bobby Storm and Mark Langseth.
- Demon Boy Ishrinku - pulled from an ice pond following the
bloody main event, unconscious and not breathing. He is currently in
Sapporo National Hospital but his condition is not known.
- "Blood Angel" Simon Ezra - despite winning the Ice
Sculpture Death match against Ishrinku, also had to be taken to Sapporo
National Hospital for unspecified injuries.
- "Outlaw" Bobby Taylor - won the Desert Death match
against Bram Black but was held overnight at Sapporo National Hospital for
observation (potentially suffering the after-effects of scorpion
stings).
Not Hospitalized
- The Banshee - suffering chronic pain in his right shoulder,
this was aggravated by his bruising loss to TORA Wanizame. He may be
unable to compete for some time until the injury heals.
- Shoji Suzuki - although his injuries are unknown, rumor has it
that Suzuki is suffering from severe depression concerning the recent
fortunes of Hiryuu Batsu.
- "Black Dog" Yoshito Katsumura - following a gore-filled
loss to "Black Knight" Alex Martinez, Katsumura refused medical
treatment but is said to be suffering severe burns and contusions to most of
his body. He also may not be able to compete for some time.
While new recruits have helped fill previous holes in the G-Pro roster, this
sudden string of injuries must be of some concern to those in the front
office as they look towards their next major event - Los Carnaval de
Campeones (Carnival of Champions) to be held in Mexico in April.
