Pro Japan Wrestling, March 29th, 1998 
[The shot cuts to the ring where Sato is standing, mic in hand.]Sato: Ladies 'n' Gentlemen, the following contest is sanctioned by Pro Japan Wrestling, and is scheduled for one fall, no time limit. The Winner of this match-up will advance to the finals of the World Junior Heavyweight Title Tournament!!! [The crowd cheers.] Sato: Introducing first.... [An original piece of music, with taiko drumming, strings with some guitar, begins to play over the PA. A medium built man, with short dark black hair with a brown tint in streaks, and tattoos on his arms, makes his way down to the ring with his arms raised. He wears long black tights, with a blue flame with a silver outline on each leg, along with "Daredevil" in Japanese. He also wears knee and shin pads with black boots. Colored bands wrap around his biceps. He wears a black robe with a blue and silver style that is similar to his tights. On the back is "Akuma" in huge Japanese characters. He is accompanied by his manager, Foxxy. She wears a very tight and sexy, short blue dress. Foxxy and Kashan pause at the top of the ramp and he does a couple of crotch chops as fireworks go off. Fireworks go off along the ramp as they walk by. He does a flip into the ring. Foxxy follows him in and takes his robe off. Kashan then goes on to the middle rope and does some crotch chops there. He backflips off the top rope onto his feet.] Sato: Accompanied to the ring by Foxxy, from Tokyo, Japan, Standing 5 feet, 11 inches, and weighing in at 195 pounds, KASHAN AKUMA!!!!! [The crowd lets out a chorus of boos.] Sato: And his opponent.... [The crowd cheers as "Even Flow" by Pearl Jam plays over the PA as the sellout crowd cheers. Strobe lights flash across the arena as a small built brown skinned man, with brown eyes comes running towards the ring. He wears a red mask with black lightning bolts with silver outlines, on the sides, with an opening in the mouth area, and large eye openings covered with white fabric. A black vest reads "Maximum Liger" in red silver letters with a read outline. He wears long red tights with "Maximum Liger" written on the butt. Black lightning bolts cover the sides of the pants accompanied by silver, O'Neal Style wrestling boots. Fireworks go off as Liger runs down to the ring hops the ropes and poses as fireworks bring back the house lights back on.] Sato: Originally from Mexico City, now making his home in San Diego, California, he stands 5 feet, six inches and weighs in at 160 pounds, CARLOS LIGER JR!!!! [the fans cheer wildly, and chant 'Liger, Liger, Liger...' ] HM: This capacity crowd is on its feet in anticipation of this match-up. CR: This is one of the marquee match-ups that people have been dreaming about since both these men signed with PJW, and now its about to happen! HM: There's the bell and we're underway.... [The crowd begins to clap in rhythm as the two wrestlers circle the ring. They lock up and Akuma controls with an armbar.] HM: Akuma controls the opening lock-up with an armbar! He's really wrenching on that arm. CR: The fans are still on there feet! [Liger runs toward the ropes and springs to the second turnbuckle] HM: Head scissors take down by Liger! Great counter hold by Liger. CR: Liger Jr.; wants to take this match to the air and set a fast pace, Akuma told me before the match that he's gonna try and keep Liger grounded with power moves, but he's the one grounded right now, as he's still locked up in the head scissors. [Akuma Twists around and stands up with his head still locked between Liger's knees. He then rolls forward causing Liger to release the hold. Liger then bridges up but Akuma counters and faces Liger] HM: Northern Lights suplex hold by Akuma! 1....2....KICKOUT! [Akuma rolls over the top of Liger and both men come to there feet. Akuma falls against the ropes and Liger Monkey flips him] HM: Float over by Akuma, Monkey Flip by Liger! But Akuma landed on his feet, and now he's posing for the crowd! [Liger comes running from behind and dropkicks Akuma in the back of the head sending Akuma into the ropes. Akuma falls backwards out of the ropes and Liger locks his arms around his waist] HM: German suplex hold! 1...2...KICKOUT by Akuma! CR: Both men have scored near falls here in the opening stages of this match-up. [:Akuma rolls to his feet as does Liger. Akuma charges Liger but Liger takes him down with an arm drag. Akuma comes back to his feet quickly but Liger takes right back down with a hip toss. Akuma comes quickly to his feet again, looking very frustrated and charges at Liger again with a clothesline] HM: Duck under by Liger! Crucifix! NO! FALL AWAY SLAM! CR: Terrific counter by Akuma! [Akuma sits up and points to his head, smiling. He then comes to his feet and brings a dazed Liger to his feet as well. Akuma shoots Liger to the ropes and picks him up high above his head and just drops him face first to the canvas. The crowd 'ahs' as Liger clutches his stomach] HM: Devastating press slam by Akuma! [Akuma poses for the crowd over Liger and chops his crotch at the crowd. He then begins to taunt Liger by slapping him in the face.] CR: This may be a big mistake by Akuma. [Liger comes to his knees and Akuma slaps him across the face as the crowd 'ahs'. Liger is unfazed by the blow and comes to his feet. Akuma slaps him even harder across the face, and Liger is unfazed. Akuma slaps him again. Liger turns away and then tackles Akuma to the mat and begins to hit him with a flurry of rights and lefts as the crowd cheers] HM: Liger is wailing away on Akuma! He's just gone ballistic! [Liger comes to his feet and brings Akuma to his feet as well. He shoots Akuma hard to the corner and follows him in with a quick series of stick kicks to the mid section, which doubles Akuma over in the corner.] HM: Liger has him reeling in the corner! [Liger raises Akuma back to an up right position and begins the chop away on him as the crowd 'whoos'. Liger chops him 6 times and Akuma stumbles out of the corner grasping his chest. Liger then climbs to the top rope and waits for Akuma to turn around] HM: HURRICANRANA!!! NO! Akuma caught him and dropped him with a powerbomb hold! 1....2...KICKOUT by Liger! CR: Most of Akuma's Offense has come off counter holds. [Akuma releases his hold on Liger and looks to Foxxy on the outside for advice. He nods in agreement to what she says and slides under the bottom rope to the floor. He reaches under the ring and grabs a table. He pulls it out from under the ring and sets it up perpendicular to the ring and guardrail] HM: WHAT DOES AKUMA HAVE IN MIND? CR: It looks like Akuma is going to pull out all the stops in order to win this match-up. But Liger is back to his feet in the ring! [Akuma hops onto the apron of the ring. Liger comes charging at Akuma but is met with a kick to the stomach. Akuma then grabs Liger in vertical suplex position. The crowd rises to its feet in anticipation of the two men crashing through the table] HM: OH MY LORD! he's gonna suplex Liger through that table! [Akuma attempts the suplex but Liger blocks it. Akuma attempts it again, but Liger blocks again. Liger then delivers a stiff kick to Akuma's knee which stuns him. Liger springs to the top rope and executes a spinning hurricanrana that sends both men crashing through the table and to the floor. The crowd 'ohs and ahs' at the move followed by gasps as the two men crash to the floor.] HM: OH MY GOD! BOTH MEN JUST CRASHED THROUGH THE TABLE AND TO THE FLOOR! CR: Neither of these men may make it back into the ring! HM: There is no countout as long as both men are on the floor, its the ref's decision whether to stop this one or not, and I don't believe he will stop a match-up with such importance! [Both men lay onto of the broken table. Akuma doesn't move, Liger is just beginning to move somewhat. Foxxy makes her way around to the side of the ring which both men lay on to encourage Akuma to get to his feet.] HM: The crowd is still in shock from what just happened! I am in shock as well! What a match to this point! [Liger sits up slowly grasping the back of his head. He slowly stands up and grabs Akuma by the hair. Akuma is limp and not moving. Liger slaps him across the face to revive him enough to throw him back in the ring] HM: Liger has positioned Akuma in the corner and now he's climbing to the top turnbuckle! [Liger goes to the top rope and perches there, he stands up and gains his balance] HM: FROG SPLASH!!! 1....2...KICKOUT! [The crowd groans at the near pinfall as they were expecting the 3 count] CR: Liger is determined to put Akuma away. he's going back to the top.... HM: Somersault leg drop! There's a cover, hooks the leg... 1...2...KICKOUT! CR: Great endurance on the part of Akuma! You have to give him credit, he's a fighter! [Liger brings Akuma to his feet] HM: OHHHH!!!! SLINGSHOT BRAINBUSTER! Cover... 1... 2... KICKOUT! CR: I can't believe the endurance Akuma is showing in this match-up! [Liger Brings Akuma to his feet and shoots him to the ropes Liger back bodydrops Akuma but he lands on his feet and catches Liger with a vicious clothesline just as Liger turns around] HM: Akuma leveled Liger with that clothesline! But he's laying on the mat still trying to recover from the offensive onslaught of Liger! [Both men lay on the mat face down. Akuma slowly comes to his feet as does Liger, Akuma walks towards Liger and kicks his knee out from under him. He then lifts him up in power bomb position, but Liger spins around and executes a forward Victory Roll] HM: 1....2.....KICKOUT! AKUMA JUST BARELY GOT OUT! CR: We're seeing some great move counter move wrestling here tonight! [: Liger comes to his feet quickly as does Akuma. Liger runs towards the ropes and comes off with a spring board missile dropkick but Akuma catches his legs and applies a modified version of the Boston crab] HM: Another flashy counter move by Akuma! And he's really leaning back on Liger's back! CR: If you remember, last week in Liger's match with Kim Chee, he went for and missed Maximum Liger, and ever since then he's back has been in some pain, and now Akuma is capitalizing on the injury! [Akuma continues to wrench on Liger's back as Liger winces in pain. Akuma taunts the crowd as he tells the ref to watch for the tapout. On the outside Foxxy gives a devilish, cocky smile, sensing that its only a matter of time till Liger submits.] HM: How much longer can Liger hang on? [Liger pulls Akuma's legs out from under him and breaks the hold. Liger then comes to his feet holding back and springs off the ropes with a flying forearm that catches Akuma just as he had made it to his feet.] CR: yet another technically sounds counter! And he followed it up with a high impact forearm! [Akuma comes back to his feet quickly and is met by a drop kick attempt by Liger, but Akuma blocks it and grabs Liger by the mask and throws him through the ropes and to the outside of the ring.] HM: But just like that Akuma is back in control and Liger hit his back on the floor outside the ring. [Liger comes to his feet propped against the guardrail clutching his back. Akuma dives over the top rope and grabs Liger's head for a bulldog, driving Liger's chin down into the guardrail and sending Akuma into the front row.] HM: GOOD LORD! What a vicious move! Liger may be bleeding from the mouth after that one. CR: and look at Akuma, posing in the crowd, and flirting with the ladies! [ Liger falls backwards to the floor. Akuma grabs the guardrail and slingshots himself over the guardrail with a legdrop. Akuma then follows up by scooping a very groggy Liger to his feet] HM: OHHH!!!! What a hard Irish whip to the guardrail! Liger's back is in bad shape. [Akuma comes up and spits in Liger's face, before kicking him right in the teeth. Akuma then scoops Liger up and delivers a back breaker across the guardrail. The crowd 'ahs'. ] HM: What a vicious move by Akuma! Akuma is trying to injure Liger! CR: This is a vicious onslaught on the outside of the ring by Akuma! He is truly pulling out all the stops. [Liger falls over the guardrail and into the ringside area, hitting the back of his head on the floor. Akuma grabs Liger by the mask and begins to try and pry the mask off Liger. He unlaces part of the back of the mash before throwing Liger back in the ring. Liger scrambles to the corner and tries to quickly replace the part of the mask Akuma unlaced. He gets part of it re-laced, but Akuma kicks him in the head to stop his progress.] HM: Akuma is not only trying to beat Liger, he's trying to strip him of his pride and heritage! [ Akuma goes to the top rope and poses for the crowd. He then signals for the Maximum Liger. The crowd groans in disgust. Suddenly Liger comes to his feet and lunges towards the top rope causing Akuma to loose his balance and fall onto the top turnbuckle.] CR: Akuma won't be looking for any ladies tonight after that fall! HM: And Liger's following him to the top. [Liger climbs to the top turnbuckle and hooks the top of Akuma's head in a stunner position. He then raises his hand to the crowd. The crowd comes to their feet cheering] CR: I think he's going for the Liger Driver! [Liger springs off the top rope and sends Akuma crashing to the mat with a diamond cutter from the top rope.] HM: what a devastating move. Liger is still weak from the punishment he took on the outside. He's crawling over to Akuma.... He's rolled him over... There's the cover.. Its over.... 1...2...3... NO! KICKOUT! KICKOUT BY AKUMA! CR: This crowd can't believe it! Akuma got a shoulder up at 2 and one half!!! [ Liger rolls off Akuma and looks stunned that Akuma was able to kickout. He comes to his feet and goes to the tope rope.] HM: SOMERSAULT HURRICARANA INTO A PINFALL! NO AKUMA ROLLED HIM OVER! 1...2...3....!!!!! Akuma has won!!!! [The crowd 'ohs and ahs', then gasps in disbelief as the ref counts to 3.] CR: Liger went for the Liger Sting and hit it, but Akuma rolled through and pinned Liger's shoulders to the mat! HM: what a match! Sato: The winner of this match, KASHAN AKUMA! [The shot shows Kashan Akuma standing in the ring with Foxxy with his hands raised as his music plays over the P.A.. Carlos Liger has rolled to the outside of the ring and appears to be in shock after his loss] CR: And how appropriate that Akuma won the match with a COUNTER move. In this match he proved that he is a great counter wrestler. HM: Fans we're out of time! Tune in right here next week for the debut of PJW's Parade of Champions!
