Kabuki Kid versus Paul Wong
Canadian Internet Wrestling Federation, April 13th, 1998

SORBAY:  Ladies and gentlemen, this next contest is a special exhibition match featuring participants from the IIWF.  It is scheduled for one fall and has no time limit.  Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by his tag team partner Simon O'Neal... PAUL WONG!

("Peter Gunn" by Henry Mancini begins playing, and two men step through the curtain.  Both men wear black trunks with "The Machines" down the side, grey fedoras, and black sunglasses.  The smaller man has a smirk on his face, and is wearing a black glove.  The larger man just stares ahead.  They walk down the aisle to a HUGE chorus of boos, and the smaller man seems to be soaking in the heel response.  They climb up the stairs into the ring, and the smaller man takes the house microphone.)

O'NEAL:  Hello, hello!  I am Simon O'Neal, the big man is Paul Wong, together we are The Machines.  Now, normally we would be here to teach each and every tag team here how WE set the tag team standards in the business.  But tonight, Mr. Wong here is going to wrestle solo against the Kabuki Kid, the husband of Ms. Miki.

(The crowd cheers at the name of Miki.  Simon's grin gets even wider.)

O'NEAL:  As a matter of fact, we have some film on Miki.  Roll it!

(The videotron comes to life, and shows Ms. Miki in handcuffs looking terrified at the Machines.  Paul Wong steps over... unlocks the handcuffs... holds open the ropes to let her out of the ring... and suddenly clotheslines her, causing her to flip 360 degrees.  The crowd boos mercilessly as Simon claps approvingly.  Paul just shakes his head and shrugs.)

O'NEAL:  A great performance by Miki.  The full reverse flip, landing on her head.  What a m....

WONG:  OK, enough.

O'NEAL:  Huh?  (looking confused)

WONG:  My turn to speak, Simon.

(Simon shrugs, then hands over the mic to his partner.)

WONG:  You all just saw that film.  What can I say?  Yes, I clotheslined Miki.  She deserved it.  She told me she loved me.  She told me that if I went with her, that we could be together.  I dumped everything for her.  My friends, my family... I turned my back on my partner for her.  And two weeks later, she and the Fabulous Ones attacked me.  You crossed the line, Miki.  You got what you deserved.  Since then, we've beaten the Fabulous Ones.  I hurt you - nowhere near as much as you hurt me, but I hurt you.  And tonight, I'm going to cripple your husband.

(He hands the microphone back to Simon.)

O'NEAL:  Now, some of the smarter people in the audience... (looks around with his hands above his eyes.) Well, I don't see any, but I'm assuming some of you are at least a little bright.  Anyway, some of you might wonder why in the hell we'd ever agree to come to an event hosted by Mr. Tsuburaya.  Well, the answer is simple... MONEY!  (He reaches into his pocket, and pulls out a large number of bills.) None of this yen crap, either.  Cold, hard, American Currency, and lots of it.  BUT... we're not stupid.  So we had it written into the contract that the Fabulous Ones couldn't be at ringside.  Of course, this doesn't apply to me.  And to insure this... could you come out, please?

(A Japanese police officer gets up from his chair at ringside and walks up into the ring.)

O'NEAL:  This is Mr. Haito, a member of the Japanese Police force.  He has been instructed to put any members of the Fabulous Ones or the rest of the Daimyo under arrest, by any means necessary.  (Turns to Mr. Haito) Shoot to kill.  So, Kabuki, I'm going to be here at ringside, watching my partner tear you limb from limb.  But look on the bright side... maybe you and Miki can share the same hospital room.

(Simon hops over the ropes and takes his position at ringside, soaking in the boos.  Paul waits for his opponent with a frightening look of intensity.  Sheila Sorbay starts the introduction for the Kabuki Kid.)

SORBAY:  And his opponent, weighing in at 215 pounds.  He's from right here, Nagoya, Japan...

VOICE:  Arigato, Sorbay-san, but I can take it from here.

(Sheila gets cut off by a beautiful oriental woman, in a blue evening gown, who just walked out from behind the curtains.  The crowd goes crazy with a loud ovation.)

SHAMUS:  It's Ms. Miki!  She's back!

IFUKUBE:  Hai!

MIKI:  Hey, Paulie-boy.  Did you think I'd miss this little piece of retribution for what you did to me?

WILLIS:  Hey, look who's with her, it's Jack Banks!!

(Jack Banks comes through the curtains and stands next to Ms. Miki.)

IFUKUBE:  He's Ms. Miki's bodyguard.  He's just doing his job.

WILLIS:  Yeah, well so is Mr. Haito!

(Paul waves at the Police Officer to take Banks and Miki away.  Mr. Haito gets up and walks down towards Ms. Miki and Jack Banks.)

MIKI:  How brave you are Paulie.  Before I have to go, I've got an introduction to do.(Huge ovation) He's the man that will set your imagination of fire.  He's the tour guide to the unbelievable... (Mr. Haito gets to the duo.  He talks with Banks for a moment.  Then, Simon O'Neal walks up from behind Mr. Haito and starts yelling about Jack leaving.)

WILLIS:  That O'Neal guy doesn't know who he's messing with!

(And as if on cue, Banks nails Simon right between the eyes with a jab.  Simon falls backwards, as Banks pushes Mr. Haito out of the way.  Paul is livid and is yelling at Ms. Miki.)

WILLIS:  That Wong guy looks like he going to lose his cool.

MIKI:  ...he's the "Ruler of the Airways".  Here's the KABUKI KID!!!!!

WILLIS:  Look at that!

(The Kabuki Kid lowers from the ceiling, on a pulley, down into the ring behind Paul Wong.  The crowd is deafening with its applause.)

SHAMUS:  He doesn't know he's behind him.  Oh!  And Banks just bodyslammed O'Neal on the floor.

WILLIS:  Here comes Wong to help him!!

SHAMUS:  No!  Wong's attempt to leave the ring to aid his partner is halted when he gets tapped on the shoulder.  He turns around and... whoah!  The Kabuki Kid just nailed him with a hard right across the face, knocking both the hat and glasses off Wong.  The Kid follows it up with three quick chops, then a roundhouse kick that sends the bigger man sprawling to the floor.

WILLIS:  Listen to the crowd, they're loving this!!

IFUKUBE:  Revenge always brings the fire of the heart to the surface.

WILLIS:  What?!?

SHAMUS:  The Kid picks up Wong and whips him to the corner, then follows in with a monkey flip out of the corner.  The Kid stands up, and delivers a headbutt to the prone Machine.  Wong holds his head in pain while The Kid riles up the audience.  In the back, Jack Banks and Simon O'Neal are continuing to brawl with Mr. Haito trying to separate the two.  The Kid shoves Wong into the corner, climbs on top of him, and starts delivering shots to the head.  The crowd counts one, two, three, four, five... no!  Wong walks out of the corner, carrying The Kid, and delivers a reverse atomic drop, then clotheslines The Kabuki Kid down to the mat.

WILLIS:  Man!  I knew this was a grudge match but these guys are really taking it to each other!!

SHAMUS:  Wong picks The Kid up and slams him on the mat, then begins stomping on the Kid with his boots.  The Kid catches one of the boots and pulls, tripping Wong up and sending him to the mat.  Both men get up but the Kid is quicker, and delivers a dropkick that just misses the backpedaling Wong.  Wong whips The Kid into the ropes and delivers a crunching spinebuster.  He picks The Kid up and gorilla presses him over his head.  He uses The Kid to do three military presses above his head before slamming him to the mat and covering.  Here's Bob Miller with the count: one, two, no, kickout!

WILLIS:  That was close!  And did you see the way he pressed The Kid over his head?!?  This Paul Wong is powerful!!

SHAMUS:  Wong picks up The Kid and locks him in a bearhug.  The referee raises the Kid's arm, but the arm stays up.  On the outside, Mr. Haito finally separates the two brawlers and is ordering Jack Banks back to the locker room.  Banks refuses then charges at O'Neal when the smaller Machine starts stalking towards Ms. Miki.  Banks leaps, and the two men begin going at it again.  Inside the ring, The Kabuki Kid is fading, and his arm falls.  The referee raises his arm again, and it stays up.  The Kabuki Kid begins to headbutt Wong once... twice... three times!  Wong releases the bearhug and The Kid bounces off the ropes and delivers a spinning back kick to the head of Wong.

WILLIS:  Ouch!!

SHAMUS:  You said it!  But it looks like we've got two matches going at the same time.  O'Neal and Banks are still battling away in the aisle and Kabuki Kid and Wong fighting it out in the ring.

WILLIS:  Hee hee hee!  And here I thought Japanese wrestling was all about politeness and technical knowledge?!?  I *LOVE* a good brawl!!

SHAMUS:  Incredible show of energy on the part of Jack Banks as earlier this evening, he fought a tremendous battle against "Handsome" Joey Johnson and Goliath.  Back in the ring, The Kid picks up Wong and hooks him for a quick snap suplex that brings the big man over.  The crowd cheers as Kabuki then delivers a second standing head butt, followed by a kneedrop to Wong's forehead.  Wong sits up, rubbing his temple, and Kabuki gets behind Wong and flips over, catching his neck and snapping it forward.  He goes for a cover... one, two, kickout!

WILLIS:  Man!  That snap suplex of his is so fast, it's mind boggling!!

SHAMUS:  Wong slowly gets up and The Kabuki Kid whips him into the ropes.  On the rebound, The Kabuki Kid leaps up and nails him with a Frankensteiner... no!  Wong stops short, catches him in midair, and powerbombs him to the mat.  Wong picks him up for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker over the knee, then holds him there bending The Kid backwards over his knee.  Bob Miller is asking The Kid if he submits but The Kid shakes his head.  Wong grabs the Kid, lifts him in the air, and slams him to the mat.  He covers... one, two, kickout!

WILLIS:  These guys are going back and forth like a tennis match!!

SHAMUS:  Wong shoves The Kabuki Kid into the corner and begins hammering forearms into him.  The first four are met with no resistance.  On the fifth, The Kabuki Kid fires back with a European Uppercut.  A right fist by Wong.  A chop by The Kid.  A roundhouse by Wong.  A fist by The Kid.  Another chop by The Kid.  A haymaker by Wong misses, and The Kid ducks out of the way, under Wong, and kicks him, sending him careening into the corner.  The Kid runs at the corner, climbs up Wong, and back flips off of him.  Wong charges out of the corner but is elevated high into the air with a back bodydrop from The Kid.

WILLIS:  Sheesh!  It's hard to tell which is more exciting!  The match in the ring or the brawl in the aisle?!?

SHAMUS:  The Kabuki Kid does a snap legdrop on Wong, then heads up to the corner.  As Wong gets to his feet, The Kid leaps off and delivers a perfect high-cross bodyblock.  Both men crash to the mat, and The Kid hooks the leg for the cover: one, two, kickout!  Outside the ring, Mr. Haito finally resorts to handcuffs, and manages to handcuff Jack Banks' wrists behind his back.  As the police officer takes Mr. Banks to the back, Simon O'Neal waves to Banks, then takes a step towards Ms. Miki.  Miki heads back over towards Haito and Banks and The Kid hollers at O'Neal.  O'Neal turns around and flips off The Kid and he starts to climb out of the ring... only to be caught from behind by a back suplex from Wong.

WILLIS:  Never, never *EVER* take your eyes off your opponent!!

SHAMUS:  True, but The Kid has to be worried about Ms. Miki.  And Paul Wong is keeping the punishment going as he drops a fist on The Kabuki Kid's face, then begins hammering him with blows.  A whip to the ropes leads to a powerslam.  Wong picks up The Kid and carries him in a bodyslam position, then dumps him over the ropes.  Bob Miller stops to admonish Wong, who can't seem to hear or understand him.  While the referee is occupied, Simon O'Neal runs down to ringside, picks up the Kabuki Kid, and… rams his head into the steel guardrail!

WILLIS:  Hee hee hee!  Ya know, if they were signed to a CIWF contract, I could get to like these Machines!!

SHAMUS:  O'Neal rolls The Kid back under the ropes just as Bob Miller turns around.  Wong picks The Kid up in a fireman's carry, and begins to deliver an airplane spin.  After several rotations, Wong falls back in a Samoan Drop... then rolls over, still carrying The Kid, stands up, and delivers another Samoan Drop!  And then he rolls over again and gets back up to his feet.  He starts to deliver a third Somoan Drop when the Kabuki Kid scissors both of Wong's arms with his arms and legs, and rolls over into a crucifix pinning position for a count of one, two, thr... kickout!

WILLIS:  Dagnabit!  Count a bit faster, ref!!

SHAMUS:  Wong gets to his feet and doubles over the Kid.  He picks him up for a piledriver, but The Kid blocks the piledriver by kicking wildly, then backdrops Wong over his head.  The Kid grabs Wong and lifts him in a snap gutwrench suplex then bounces off the ropes and nails Wong in the back of the head with a dropkick.  He drops an elbow on Wong's throat, covers for one, two, kickout!  The Kid runs towards the ropes and bounces backwards for an Asai Moonsault... oh!  But he connects squarely with Wong's raised knees!

WILLIS:  The Kid's still got a match later on so he can't take much more punishment or he'll be jeopardizing those Canadian National Tag titles!!

SHAMUS:  The Kid is rolling around in pain and Wong picks him up and delivers a spinning neckbreaker.  He starts twisting on the neck of the Kid, keeping him on the mat by wrapping his legs around The Kid's waist.  Bob Miller checks him but The Kabuki Kid refuses to submit.  Wong looks at his partner on the outside of the ring.  Simon nods and climbs up on the ring apron.  As Bob Miller orders Simon back down, Wong switches to a blatant chokehold.  The crowd starts screaming, and the ref turns to check... just as Wong releases the choke and goes back to the neckwringer.  The crowd tells the referee of the infraction, but Wong denies it with a small smile on his face.  Simon goes into conniption fits up on the apron, and the referee heads back to Simon, only to have The Kid being choked again.  This time, Miller turns around more quickly and catches Wong, ordering him to release his hold.  Wong does at the four count, then stomps on the head of the Kabuki Kid.

WILLIS:  Again with the double team tactics!  These Machines are an impressive duo!!

SHAMUS:  Wong waistlocks The Kabuki Kid, then delivers a release German Suplex.  The Kabuki Kid lies on the mat, and Wong pulls him to his feet, hooks him and lifts him up.  He holds him for five seconds... then ten seconds... then fifteen seconds.  All the blood is rushing to Kabuki's head.

WILLIS:  Amazing show of strength by Paul Wong but when is he going to drop him?!?

SHAMUS:  And down he goes as Wong finally drops The Kid on his head with a devastating brainbuster.  Wong rolls the Kid over, and hooks the leg.  Here's Bob Miller with the count: one, two, thre... no!  Kickout!

(The crowd cheers wildly.)

WILLIS:  Another close one!  Ya know, if this Wong character wasn't an outsider, I could grow to like him!!

SHAMUS:  Wong looking a little frustrated as he pulls The Kid up and lifts him up in a fireman's carry.  He walks around the ring, soaking in boos from a definitely partisan crowd.  He walks over to the side of the ring, where Simon jumps up to the ring apron.  Simon gives him a high-five.  Wong then walks over to the corner nearest the aisle where Ms. Miki is looking on with a concerned look on her face.  Wong steps up to the first turnbuckle, and waves over to Ms. Miki, bringing a look of anger to her face.  Grinning, Wong falls backward... wow!  Crashing The Kabuki Kid down with a Samoan Drop from the first turnbuckle.  He rolls The Kid over, and makes the cover: one, two, thre... no!  Kickout again!

WILLIS:  Sheesh!!  How much more can The Kid take?!?

SHAMUS:  Hopefully enough to win this thing and protect Ms. Miki afterwards.  And Wong picks up The Kid, and whips him into the ropes.  He bends down for a backdrop, but the Kabuki Kid leapfrogs over him then bounces off the opposite ropes.  The Kid leaps up for a Thesz Press... Wong catches him, holds him, and spins into a crushing spinebuster!  He covers: one, two… hey!  Wong could have had the count but he pulled The Kid up!

WILLIS:  What's he doing?!?  He coulda finished him right there!  Oh… wait a minute, I get it… he's rubbing it in for Ms. Miki, dealing out a bit more punishment.

SHAMUS:  Wong yanks on The Kid's head and slaps him once...twice... a third time.  He picks up The Kid and sets him on the top turnbuckle closest to the aisleway.  He grabs The Kid, and sets up for a superplex.  He lifts him up... no!  The Kabuki Kid grabbed onto the ropes, stopping the superplex.  With a burst of energy, he nails Wong with two quick chops, then lifts Wong up.  He gets Wong up about ninety degrees, and drops him down to the mat for a superfacebuster!

WILLIS:  Listen to this crowd!  They're going nuts!!

SHAMUS:  Wong is clutching his face in agony and rolls out of the ring and onto the floor, covering his face.  As Simon runs around the ring to check on his partner, the crowd starts cheering madly, as the Kabuki Kid climbs on top of the turnbuckle turns around, and leaps off... Whoa!  He hits a full rotation before nailing a Shooting Star Press onto Wong, sending both men crashing on the floor!

WILLIS:  Did you see that?!?  That was incredible!!

SHAMUS:  An amazing move on the part of The Kid to turn this thing around.  But, I think it took as much out of him as it did Wong as neither man is moving.  Bob Miller begins counting them both out and Simon tries to approach the wrestlers but Bob Miller is there to order him back.  One... two... three... four... The Kabuki Kid sits up... five... six... he's grabbing the ring apron and pulling himself up... seven... eight... The Kabuki Kid is up, rolls into the ring to break the count, and rolls back out again.

WILLIS:  What did he do that for?!?  He could have won by countout!!

SHAMUS:  This isn't only about winning, Mike, it's about revenge.  The Kabuki Kid picks Wong up by the hair and uses an Irish whip... no, it's reversed by Wong and The Kabuki Kid goes crashing into the steel guardrail.  Wong is checking his nose and I think he's bleeding from that superfacebuster.  With an angry yell, he charges at The Kid... only to be backdropped over the steel guardrail and into the audience!

WILLIS:  Now this is getting good!!

SHAMUS:  Simon heads over towards his partner, threatening anyone who approaches Wong.  On the other side of the guardrail, The Kabuki Kid dives back under the ropes and into the ring.  He quickly scales the ropes, and glances down the aisle.  He makes a small but noticeable nod to his wife and then... holy cow!  The Kabuki Kid just dove off the top turnbuckle sailing some twenty feet through the air and onto both Wong and Simon O'Neal!

WILLIS:  Hee hee!  He really is "The Ruler of the Airways!!"

SHAMUS:  O'Neal took the brunt of the blow and is sent flying into the crowd.  The Kabuki Kid picks up Wong... and slaps him across the face.  He drags Wong by the hair over to the timekeepers table and lays him out on the table.  He then climbs up on the table himself, and falls down with a standing head butt onto Wong's ribs.  With a loud CRACK, the table breaks, and both Wong and The Kid fall through to the floor.  This is getting a little out of hand and I wouldn't be surprised if Bob Miller stopped this match right now.

WILLIS:  Ah but this is an exhibition match so it's under special conditions, remember?!?

SHAMUS:  Again, Bob Miller begins another count.  One... two... three... The Kabuki Kid is up... four... five... he picks up Wong and throws him under the ropes.  Wong looks unconscious, and is bleeding from the nose.  The Kabuki Kid scales the ropes again and signals for a moonsault.  He turns around to face the audience, and leaps... hey!

WILLIS:  Where did that come from?!?

SHAMUS:  A purse just flew into the ring and nails The Kabuki Kid.  Bob Miller didn't see the purse and while the force of the blow doesn't hurt The Kid, it forces him to mis-time his leap and he comes crashing down onto the mat in front of the unconscious Wong.

WILLIS:  Look!  In the audience!!

(The camera pans over to the crowd where a woman is screaming at Simon O'Neal, who is wearing a large smirk on his face.  He flips off the woman before climbing back out of the audience and to ringside.)

SHAMUS:  O'Neal again making his presence felt as Bob Miller begins a double-count.  One... two... three... four... five… six... The Kabuki Kid just moved an arm... seven... Wong instinctively kicks out... eight... Wong has opened his eyes... nine... oh!  And Paul Wong just rolled over and laid his arm over the Kabuki Kid.  Bob Miller has no choice but to count for the pin: one, two, three... kickout!

WILLIS:  Was it in time?!?

SHAMUS:  Yes!  Bob Miller is indicating that The Kabuki Kid kicked out, despite vocal protests from Simon.  The crowd is cheering wildly as both men slowly get to their knees, and stare at each other with a look of pure anger.  From his knees, Wong punches The Kid in the mouth.  The Kid responds with a chop across his chest.  Wong hits The Kid again, and is nailed with another chop.  Another punch.  Another chop.  Wong gets to his feet... but is met by a dropkick from the Kabuki Kid.  The Kid picks him up and gets Wong into a headlock.  Wong shoves him off... into Bob Miller!  He sandwiched Bob Miller between The Kid and the turnbuckle.  Both Miller and The Kid fall to the mat.  Wong slowly walks over and picks up The Kid.  He whips The Kid into the turnbuckle... oh!  The Kid jumped up to the second turnbuckle, leaped off and… nails Wong with a springboard headbutt!  Wong falls to the mat, and the Kabuki Kid hooks the leg: one, two, three!  Oh no!

WILLIS:  The Kabuki Kid won but that was no ref that made that count!!

SHAMUS:  The Kid stands up with his arms raised but instead of hearing cheers, he hears shouts of warning from Ms. Miki.  The Kabuki Kid turns around to first see the referee still on the mat and then sees the man who counted three!

WILLIS:  It's was Simon O'Neal!  What a great fakeout!!

SHAMUS:  The Kabuki Kid tries to move but is tired and gets nailed by the gloved hand of O'Neal.  The Kabuki Kid goes down like a shot.  Simon quickly drags Wong on top of The Kid, then goes over and shakes the referee.  As Bob Miller slowly gets to his feet, Simon dives out of the ring, screaming at the referee to make the cover.  Miller takes two steps and makes the count: one, two, three.  What a tremendous injustice!

[ding ding ding]

(The camera catches Simon O'Neal as he jumps into the ring and helps his partner to his feet as the announcement is made.)

SORBAY:  Here is your winner, in twenty minutes and thirty-eight seconds... PAUL WONG!

WILLIS:  Heh, I like The Kid but I also have to admit, I admire the way these Machines handled this match!!

SHAMUS:  I can't believe they got away with that.  All I can say is that The Kabuki Kid has another match with Paul Wong coming up next week in the SJPW and hopefully he won't be cheated again.

WILLIS:  Hey, do I have to say it again?!?  All's fair in...

SHAMUS:  ...love and wrestling!  Yes, Mike, we've heard it before!
