Kabuki Kid versus Tiger Claw
SJPW - 02/15/98

Ring Announcer:  This next contest is set for one fall, twenty minute time limit.  Introducing first, the manager of the Ronin... MS. MI-KI!!!

["Deuce" blares over the P.A. as Ms. Miki, dressed in a long black gown, with a low cut neckline, open back and shoulders, with a slit up the front of the left leg, with black heels, walks to the ring carrying a microphone.  The crowd gives her a big ovation.  The music fades out.]

Ms. Miki:  Konbanwa, Japan!  (Huge pop) I'm here tonight to bring you the greatest high flyer today.  He will thrill you with his fearless attitude, and amazing abilities.  Once you watch him, you'll start to find that imagination you had when you were young, anything's possible.  He's from Nagoya, Japan, and weighs in at 215 pounds.  Here is the "Master of your imagination", the "Tour guide to your dreams", the "Ruler of the Airways" the KA-BU-KI KID!!!!

[The lights go out, and a lone spotlight shines on the entrance.  "Hotter than Hell" plays over the PA, as the Kabuki Kid walks out from behind the curtain to a huge ovation.  He's wearing a traditional black kabuki outfit, with a long puffy white hairpiece, and an evil spirit mask.  He walks up the step onto the apron, then leaps to the top turnbuckle.  The lights come back on.  He stands for a moment, allowing the crowd to take in the sight.  Then, he slides off his robe, and hairpiece, dropping them to the ring attendant.  He slowly raises his hand to his mask, and quickly pulls it off, revealing his face paint.  The black with red and white paint resembles an eagle.  The wings covering his eyes and going down his cheeks, with the neck and head on his forehead.  He does a front flip landing on his feet, then into a tuck and roll into the opposite corner, where he stands and awaits Tiger Claw.]

ER:  The Ronin always like to make grand entrances, don't they?

AO:  As long as Ms. Miki is around to introduce them, I could care less!  She's the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen!

Ring Announcer:  His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Brian Lau, he hails from Bangkok Thailand, and weighs in at 220 pounds... TI-GER CLAW!!!

["Pound For Pound" blares over the P.A., and Tiger Claw, Brian Lau at his side, comes out on the runway.  The crowd gives him a round of applause, and he heads to the ring, his face expressionless.  He enters the ring, goes to his corner, then starts to warm up]

ER:  Tiger Claw is all business.

AO:  Just like he is every night.

[The ref gives both men last minute instructions, then calls for the bell.  Tiger Claw pounces Kabuki Kid, pummeling him with punches to the face and body.  Kid staggers back under this assault, eventually trapping himself on the ropes.  Claw starts to add in kicks to his attack, and Kid tries vainly to block these blows. Claw keeps Kid off balance with this rope-a-dope, then grabs him in a waistlock, and takes him over with a belly to belly suplex. Kid sits up, and Claw applies a reverse chinlock, and repeatedly drives his knee into Kid's back.  Kid's face contorts with pain, but he doesn't tap out.  Claw stops the kneedrives, then starts to forearm check the side of Kid's head.  Kid's eyes glaze over during this assault, and the ref checks his arm for the KO.  Kid's arm falls twice, but the third time, he keeps it up.  The crowd starts to chant "Kabuki!  Kabuki!", and Kid tries to fight his way out of the hold.  Claw drags Kid up to his feet, keeping the chinlock on, and starts to forearm smash him in the back.  Kid locks his arm behind Claw's head, jumps up, then snap mare's Claw over on the way down.  Claw rolls to his feet, and Kid kicks him in the gut coming in, then takes him over with a lightning fast snap suplex, which gets an ovation of applause from the crowd.  Kid snaps an elbowdrop onto Claw's chest, then covers, but Claw kicks out at one, eliciting applause from the crowd]

ER:  Tiger Claw was really brutalizing Kabuki Kid at first, but Kid was able to come back from that assault.

AO:  Tiger Claw is so vicious; he's a deadly opponent in the ring.  Kabuki Kid is no pushover either, and being slightly quicker than Claw may actually be in his favor.

ER:  Kid drags Claw to his feet; Kid turns around... he back flips, kicking Claw on the chest as he comes down!  [crowd 'ooooohs'] Claw staggers back to the ropes!

AO:  Kid turns, and charges Claw... running clothesline sends Claw over the ropes to the floor!  [crowd 'ooooohs']

[Kid grabs the ropes, and slingshots over them, landing on top of Claw with a cross body block.  Both men fall to the floor, and the crowd 'oooohs'.  The ref starts his count.  Kid is first to his feet, and he drags Claw up by his hair.  He proceeds to headbutt him repeatedly, than rams him headfirst into the buckle.  Kid then attempts to whip him across the floor into the railing, but Claw reverses!  Claw charges Kid, who backdrops Claw into the crowd!  The crowd 'ooohs' as Kid goes to the apron, and climbs to the top rope.  He steadies himself, then leaps off the top rope, sailing over the railing, and lands on top of Claw in the crowd!  The crowd goes nuts as both men crash into chairs, breaking some of them.  Chants of "Kabuki!  Kabuki!" start again, as the ref continues his count... ]

ER:  Oh my god!  What a leap Kabuki Kid did from the top rope to the floor!  That was totally suicidal!

AO:  It worked though; he caught Tiger Claw with it.  However, who did it hurt more:  Tiger Claw, or Kabuki Kid?

ER:  Both men are getting to their feet now, and neither man looks to be in good shape.  Kid nails Claw with a European uppercut, and Claw fires back with an elbowsmash to Kid's forehead.  Claw grabs Kid by the head, and throws him over the railing towards ringside.  He jumps over the railing, landing on Kid with a stomp.

AO:  Claw now drags Kid to his feet, and rams him back first to the apron.  He goes for a kick to the side of Kid's head, but he catches the leg, and drives an elbowsmash on the joint!  [crowd 'oooohs'] Claw is down.  Clutching his leg!

[Kid grabs Claw by the leg, and drives his knee a few times into the fleshy part of his leg.  Ms. Miki warns him of the count, and he drags Claw to his feet, then rolls him into the ring.  He slides in after him, then drags Claw to his feet.  He takes him over with a snap suplex, kip ups to his feet, executes a standing headbutt drop, gets up again, then kneedrops Claw's forehead!  Claw sits up in pain, and Kid flips over him, executing a jumping neck snap! The crowd 'oooohs' as Claw snaps back down to the mat, and Kid rolls to his feet, and soaks up the applause of the crowd... ]

ER:  Kabuki Kid is really trying to tear Claw apart for what he did to Tokugawa.

AO:  And he's doing a great job of it too!

ER:  Kid runs to the ropes, springboard moonsaulting on top of Claw.  He hooks the leg, and the ref drops to count... 1... 2... kickout!  [crowd applauds]

AO:  Kid drags Claw to his feet.  He sticks his head between his legs... Power-Hurricanrana by Tiger Claw!  [crowd 'ooohs']

[Kabuki Kid sails across the ring, and rolls to his feet.  He charges Tiger Claw, who takes him down with a drop toehold, and turns it into an anklelock submission hold.  Kid screams in pain, but doesn't tap out.  He reaches out and grabs the ropes, and the ref forces the break.  Claw doesn't release the hold, and the ref puts a count on him.  Claw breaks at four, and stomps on the back of the leg as he gets to his feet.  Claw drags Kid to his feet, then slams him down onto his knee for a backbreaker.  He bends Kid over his knee, applying pressure to his back.  Kid's eyes tear from the pain, but he doesn't submit.  Claw lets Kid drop to the mat, then straddles him, and proceeds to pummel his face with punches.  The ref starts to put a count on Claw, who stops at four.  He starts to pummel Kid a second time, and the ref again puts a count on him, and again Claw stops at four.  Claw rolls Kid over onto his chest, then starts to kneedrop the small of his back.  Kid again cries out in pain, and Claw stops after six kneedrops.  He slaps on a camel clutch, and pulls back as hard as he can on Kid's neck.]

ER:  Tiger Claw is being merciless to Kabuki Kid right now.  I don't think he can take much more of this.

AO:  He's given him a hell of a fight, but I think Tiger claw may just have him beat now.

ER:  It certainly looks that way... Wait!  Tokugawa's coming to ringside?

AO:  What is he doing here?

[Kid's partner Kensei Tokugawa comes walking down to ringside, his kendo stick in hand.  he walks calmly down to the ring, and stands by Ms. Miki.  He looks across at Brian Lau, and points his Kendo stick at him.  Tiger Claw sees Tokugawa, and breaks the hold on Kid.  Kid slumps to the mat, and Claw starts to walk over to where Tokugawa is.  As he gets closer, Claw starts to run, then dives through the ropes into Tokugawa!  The crowd 'ooohs' as Claw slams into him, and Tokugawa hits the railing.  Ms. Miki jumps up on the apron, and starts to complain to the ref, while Tokugawa flails away on Tiger Claw with his kendo stick.  Claw starts to body blow Kensei, who continues to smash his kendo stick over Claws head. Claw starts to wear down from Tokugawa's assault, and Kensei pushes him off, then clotheslines him with the kendo stick!  The crowd 'ooohs' as Claw falls to the floor, and Tokugawa picks him up, and rolls him into the ring.  Brian Lau jumps up on the apron, and complains to the ref about Tokugawa, while Kabuki Kid finally regains his feet.  He sees Claw on the mat, and climbs to the top rope.  He steadies himself, then comes off with a vicious kneedrop to the side of Claw's head!  The crowd 'oooohs' as Claw flops once on the mat, then lays still.  Tokugawa eggs his partner on, and Kid goes to the top rope again, this time coming off with a Shooting Star Press.  Ms. Miki pulls Lau off the apron, and Kid calls the ref over.  He turns to see Kid cover Claw, and drops down to count.  Claw makes an attempt to kick out, but is unable to get enough force behind it, and the ref makes the three count.  The crowd bursts into applause, and streamers fly into the ring]

ER:  He got him!  He beat Tiger Claw!

AO:  With a little help from his friend!

Ring Announcer:  The winner of this match... KABUKI KID!!!  [crowd applauds again, and more streamers fly into the ring]

[Tokugawa pulls a table from under the ring, and sets it up.  Kid rolls Claw outside the ring, and Tokugawa places him on the table, then hits him with the kendo stick.  Brian Lau tries to help his man, but Ms. Miki gets in his way.  After Tokugawa is sure Claw is stunned, he charges at Lau with his kendo stick,, and Lau runs around the ring.  Kabuki Kid goes to the top rope, then comes off the top rope with a kneedrop, sending both men crashing through the table!  The crowd goes crazy, and Kid is seen rolling around the remains of the table clutching his knee, while Tiger Claw lays motionless.  Tokugawa ceases to chase Lau, and runs over to his partner.  With Ms. Miki's aid, he helps Kid to his feet, and they help him to the back.  Lau rushes over to check on Claw, who somehow is able to get to his feet.  He shakes his head, then leans on the railing.  The medics come to ringside, and attempt to put Claw on a gurney, but he pushes them off.  To the amazement of the crowd, Claw starts to walk up the runway to the back by himself!  The crowd applauds him as he heads to the back, and Lau follows behind him, his head shaking in amazement... ]

ER:  This conflict between Tiger Claw & The Ronin gets more intense as things escalate.  Claw was on top of things, and then he went after Tokugawa.  If he had stuck to Kabuki Kid, he more than likely would have won the match.

AO:  But he did go after Tokugawa.  So Kabuki Kid got lucky because Tiger Claw gave in to his temper.  Big deal!  Tiger Claw is a tough man, and he proved it tonight.  Kabuki Kid needed help to get backstage, yet Claw did it all by himself.  That says a lot about these two men.
