G-Pro Goes Pan-Oceanic
(10/2/98) Following the announcement by Chairman Fletch and Commissioner Oyadama at the Blast-Off PPV, G-Pro officials are moving ahead with the absorption of the newly-purchased Tijuana Lucha federation into the Gunryo Pro organization. This will give G-Pro a base on either side of the Pacific as it alternates between events in Japan and Mexico. JIWWA Hits The Big Time (10/01/98) Well despite several false starts the Japanese Independent Women's Wrestling Association is finally ready for their big show at the Tokyo Egg Dome. Joined by the R*NGSTARS promotion, this may be one of the biggest women's cards of the year. The whole thing is capped off by a 3WI title match between Champion Baby Hotta and Medusa Rage!! Gunryo Pro Crowns Champions (9/27/98) G-Pro's inaugural supercard, "Blast Off" took place at the Osaka Dome on September 27th, Gunryo Pro's biggest night to date. Frazer Fury became the first ever Heavyweight Champion and Kashan Akuma won the Super-Middleweight Championship. And Kabuki Master lost a "Name" match to Kabuki Kid only to make the shocking revelation that he was TORA Waziname, the newest member of Zokugun Sangai!! Swan Song For Grand Dragon? (9/25/98) Speculation is running wild as the executives at Grand Dragon Wrestling Alliance have let it slip that their organization may be forced to shut down in the near future. Efforts are being made to try to keep the GDWA alive but it is not known at this time if they will be successful. Stay tuned for more details on this breaking story. SJPW Re-Opens! (9/24/98) Definitely one of the best known organizations in the world, Super Japan Pro Wrestling has come back with many of its previous superstars returning to the roster. SJPW closed down in April of this year but will resume operations shortly with SJPW Tsunami broadcasting from the Tokyo Dome on October 10th. Former CEO Jumbo Kobayashi is back in charge and the wrestling world is buzzing with this latest development. Nippon Pro Closes! (9/18/98) While not the most famous of Japanese e-wrestling organizations, Nippon Pro was a young and exciting federation which unfortunately has closed within months of opening its doors. Management was unavailable for comment although it is known that the company's assets have all been taken over by the gaijin organization, Generation Next Wrestling. ![]() ![]() |
