The SJPW Beat
Kikuchi Injured!!! (01/31/99)
Puroresuring legend Tiger Kikuchi came out of retirement to represent Chiimu Tora against the hated Ed Dean but paid dearly for it.  Dean won the match and deliberately injured Kikuchi by hitting him twice with his own trademark move, the Tiger Driver.  Afterward, Mitsunori Takizawa challenged Dean as the only member of Chiimu Tora not to be defeated by him.

Winning Streak Snapped! (01/17/99)
The juggernaut known as Ed Dean finally suffered defeat at the hands of Chiimu Tora's Jet Jaguar II.  Dean had successfully defended his All-Asian Juuryou Shimeijiai belt by forcing Jet Jaguar II to submit to a half Boston Crab.  But Dean refused to release the hold and was disqualified earning himself his first official loss in SJPW.

Banshee Wins PJW Grand Prix! (01/17/99)
In a hard-fought tournament, The Banshee defeated Chandrasekhar Yoshida and Kagemusha to become the first holder of the PJW Grand Prix Championship.  This new belt consolidates four previously titles: the PJW International Heavyweight title formerly held by Sunjinski, the Japanese Independent National Junior-Heavyweight title (PJW/NWC) formerly held by Carlos Liger Jr., the Southern Championship Wrestling Crusierweight title formerly held by Shishi "Lion" Fujiwara and the PJW International title formerly held by The Banshee.
