SJPW Senshi no Tamashii
02/07/99

Venue: Sapporo Nakajima Sports Complex, Sapporo, Japan
    • The card began with Mr. Yamashita and the entire roster of SJPW wrestlers standing at the top of the runway for a moment of silence in memory of Giant Baba who recently passed away.  Enemies and friends alike stood shoulder to shoulder while a ceremonial bell rang ten times in his memory.

    • A scene was then shown backstage where Mitsunori Takizawa tried to recruit Masashi "Lightning" Lanther for his team in the main event against Ed Dean.  Lanther was forced to turn him down as SJPW CEO Yamashita had booked him to fly to the United States that evening to represent SJPW in challenging for the NCWF cruiserweight title.

  1. Ace Kilcannon defeated Onslaught by pinfall with a flying headbutt.

    • After his match, Kilcannon gave a brief in-ring interview in which he volunteered to join Takizawa's team in order to face Ed Dean.

  2. In a second-round match of the Frank A. Marano Jr. Tag Tournament, The Outlaws defeated Heaven and Hell by pinfall as Doc Holliday pinned White Angel following The Twenty-One of Spades combination move.

    • Jonnie Adonis interviewed SJPW CEO Shinsaku Yamashita who announced that The Corporate Dragons would face "Iron Man" Tetsuo Matsumoto and a partner of his choosing at Wrestlefest.  If Matsumoto wins that match, he will get a non-title match against "The Pyro" Toshiaki Takada.  If Matsumoto defeats Takada in the non-title match, he will then receive a title shot shortly thereafter.  Yamashita denied Takada's request that the winner of the Koubousen Geijutsu title match be granted a title shot for the All-Asian title.  Yamashita also announced that the annual Super J Crown tournament starting in March will be renamed the Giant Baba Cup to honor Giant Baba who recently passed away.

  4. Metamorphico and Rupan Loco wrestled to a time limit draw.  After the match, the two men shook hands.

    • Following his match, Rupan Loco went backstage where he asked Takizawa if he could be a part of his Team SJPW for the main event.  Takizawa agreed.

    • A match between Super Bakemono Mask Jr. and Agasha Gennai was interrupted by Chandrasekhar Yoshida who criticized both men as disgraces to puroresuring.  Yoshida attacked both men and unmasked Super Bakemono Mask as newcomer Hoshi Otaku.  Yoshida's ranting was interrupted by the intervention of Jiraiya which led into the next match.

  5. Chandrasekhar Yoshida defeated Jiraiya by submission with The Genyosha Deathlock.

    • After the match, Yoshida refused to release Jiraiya from his hold until El Gato Diablo came rushing down which led to the next match.

  6. Chandrasekhar Yoshida defeated El Gato Diablo by submission with a Dragon Sleeper.

  7. In the twelve-man tag team main event, Team SJPW (Mitsunori Takizawa, Ace Kilcannon, Kensei Tokugawa, Rupan Loco, "Jigoku" Tiger Extreme & "Iron Man" Tetsuo Matsumoto) defeated Team Corporate/Team SHVF (Ed Dean, The Maulers, Kenichi Kubota & The Corporate Dragons) by pinfall when Matsumoto powerbombed Takizawa off the top rope onto Dean.

    • After the match, the rest of Chiimu Tora came out to congratulate Takizawa.  Tiger Kikuchi, wearing a neckbrace, also came out and gave a brief speech honoring Takizawa.
