Hadi Moditian announced that for administrative reasons, SHVF is cutting back from weekly cards to monthly.  As well, both Takashi Fukada and Shiro Mayashi are on hiatus leading to the World Title being declared vacant.

Kamikaze Hearts Returns (01/07/99)
The JIWWA has announced that it will be starting the New Year off with a bang with Kamikaze Hearts originating on 1/17 from Yokohama Bunka Gym.  The opening round of the 3WI Women's tag team tournament will be held as well as the debut of Akira Kahn against Miho Watanabe and Shiori Kanzaki facing off against "SPARROW" Yokota.

In a move which has the puroresuring scene buzzing, the SJPW Board Of Directors has suspended Jumbo Kuboyashi and named Shinsaku Yamashita as acting CEO in his place.

Ed Dean Wins SJPW Title!!! (12/20/98)
Ed Dean, despite being considered by many to be a traitor for signing with SHVF, won the All-Asian tournament on the last Tsunami of 1998 in a hard-fought contest with Shinji Hamada.

Riki Fudo Barred From SJPW? (12/20/98)
Following a dispute over material published in an article in PN Magazine, reporter Riki Fudo has been threatened with a ban from SJPW events.  PN Magazine publisher Don Shamus is in talks with SJPW management over this matter which has yet to be resolved.

U.S. Tycoon Japan-Bound? (01/10/99)
American businessman, Matthew Rosenthal, once part owner of the All-Star Wrestling Federation, is looking to buy out a federation in Japan.  Rosenthal has already been in contact with SHVF but rumor has it that he could be purchasing the smaller WAR federation and attempting to use his money to move it to the big time.
