Steel Wind Dojo Gets "Wild?"
by Masami Kisaragi

Lady Amanda Knight requires no introduction.  As one-half of the Wild Knights, one of the best women's tag teams in the world, the lass from Scotland has become an international superstar and certainly one of the most popular wrestlers on the modern scene.  The Wild Knights recently made their Japanese re-debut as part of the JIWWA, where their victory over the team of Miho Watanabe and Michiko "SPARROW" Yokota earned them critical praise, and earned Amanda the offer of a lifetime: a teaching position in Keiji Asamiya's Steel Wind Dojo!

"Beats the Hell outta my day job," she kidded, calling me from her hotel room in Tokyo.  During our brief conversation, Knight confirmed that she had indeed been approached by Asamiya, who was interested in having her at Steel Wind as a tae kwon do instructor [both Knight and her partner, "Flyin'" Fionna O'Brien, are accomplished martial artists].  She didn't turn him down flat, but told him she would "think about it."

"With everything the Wild Knights are involved in currently," said Knight, "I've simply not the time tae do other things.  I'd have tae see how our January engagements play out before I can even entertain another offer, regardless of who or whence it came from."

She voices her respect for Asamiya, and seems downright shocked he considered her for a spot at Steel Wind.

"It's a tremendous honour.  I'm flattered someone of his repute should be in any way interested in me!  I haven't even competed in a tournament since about September, and he's devoted his entire life to it!  At any rate, I'd love the opportunity tae be in Steel Wind.  I'm sure I can learn a lot from the experience."

Knight says her partner Fionna O'Brien stands behind her, and the Wild Knights will not be breaking up.  In fact, they are one of the eight teams who will soon be competing for the 3WI Tag Team Titles in the JIWWA.
