Alex RAPTOR came into being on October 23rd, 1968. Note the careful
selection of words in that while RAPTOR was born like any other human being,
his creation was very much an artificial construct at the behest of the
Mishima Financial
Empire (MFE). His home was Isla Nublar in the South
Pacific, an official territory of Japan whose isolation was deliberately
chosen by
MFE to
shape and mold their creation to their own wishes. From the very beginning, RAPTOR was designed to be a weapon or tool of MFE, undergoing extensive training in Okinawa at the Mishima-gun Dojo. With an intense physical and mental regimen, RAPTOR was shaped to perform one specific goal: destroy opponents in the ring. As a clone, RAPTOR has stirred up tremendous controversy in Japan as recent reports have the Ministry of Health investigating MFE for potential bio-ethics violations. Considering the economic and political pressure which MFE can bring on the government, it is doubtful that this inquiry will lead to charges being laid. RAPTOR himself is a complex and very human being who is trying to deal not only with the repurcussions of his origins but also from having split with MFE, the organization which gave him life. This act of rebellion has led to RAPTOR being targetted by MFE for revenge, specifically in the Neo Japan Pro organization which recently signed RAPTOR to a contract. But before he returned to Japan to take up puroresuring in his homeland, RAPTOR began his professional wrestling career in July of 1997 when he was signed to the XIW and MEWO organizations in North America. His combination of stiff martial arts, high flying and raw talent was quickly noticed and after breaking away from MFE, he was taken on by wrestling legend Vic Garibaldi. It was Garibaldi who arranged to have the young man signed to the prestigious American Internet Championship Wrestling organization (recently voted #1 in the RSPWF Snapshot Awards). In AICW, RAPTOR played the villainous role of "hired gun" for Garibaldi's stable, The Firm. His specific mission was to eliminate a former member of The Firm who had deserted them, "Knuckles" Gino Valentini. RAPTOR's ferocity in achieving this goal led to his using a Jeep Grand Cherokee as a weapon, sidelining Valentini for several months after a hit-and-run incident. But while acting in this role, RAPTOR also accomplished an impressive singles record, becoming embroiled in feuds with Troy Walcott and Chris Del Rio of the Enterprise, a vengeful Gino Valentini, as well as Devon Burke. Going into the summer of 1998, RAPTOR was a top contender for AICW's World title but the organization became inactive before this could take place. A sign of RAPTOR's achievements can be seen in his being ranked #6 in the inaugural RSPWF Top 100 Cruiserweights Poll. But he was not one to rest on his laurels and disguised as a masked wrestler calling himself Gymkata, he won the World Wrestling Organization's Cruiserweight title. His stay there, however, was relatively short as he left due to ethical conflicts and signed a working agreement with Neo Japan Puroresu. While returning to Japan risked reprisals from MFE, RAPTOR has acheived phenomenal success in a fairly short time, not only in NJPW but also in being the very first winner of the Mikoto Tournament. ![]() ![]() |
