Kenyuki and ARASHI To Face Reunited Firebomber
by Riki Fudo

The J.I.W.W.A. stunned many critics, many who claimed they couldn't get enough women to fill out their tag team tournament, by announcing the main event for the 2/14/99 Ota Ward Gym show.  Diamond Kenyuki and Hurricane ARASHI, fresh off their win against Robin Blaze and Medusa Rage, will team together for the 3WI Tag Team Title Tournament to face the returning Rekka Sakura and her cousin Jun Shiratori.

Sakura and Shiratori were formerly a hot team in Mexico known as Firebomber but haven't teamed together in close to three years.  Still this match marks Sakura's first match back in Japan since February of 1998 when she last defended the All Asian women's title.  Shiratori hasn't stepped in a ring since May of 1998, after a dispute with IEWA about booking practices and back pay.  When asked for comment by phone from New York, Sakura replied "It's going to be great on so many levels!!  I'm back in Japan and I'm teaming with someone who I care for very much.  Kenyuki and ARASHI better be ready because Firebomber is ready to Burn Up the J.I.W.W.A.!"  Jun Shiratori was unavailable for comment.

Kenshiro Matsumoto refused to discuss just how long Sakura and Shiratori were signed for.  However he did confirm the rumor that the World Women's Wrestling Independent (3WI) title had been returned from the now disbanded RINGST*RS.  Tentative plans are for a Round Robin tournament to be held in order to fill the title last held by Baby Hotta.
